We love to Learn & Share

& we have fun doing it

We fulfill our mission of advancing aviation through education, events, scholarships, mutual support, friendship, honoring our history, and sharing our passion for flight.

We are a group of women who have many titles, but our favorite is aviator.

We are the farthest north chapter of The Ninety-Nines, an international organization started by Amelia Earhart in 1929 with 7,000 members. We honor our unique history, and share our passion for flight with women across the world.

The Midnight Sun 99s is the Interior Alaska Chapter, located in Fairbanks. The core of our mission is to support and encourage women in aviation. We promote the advancement of aviation through education, scholarships, and mutual support. We encourage female pilots living or flying north of the Alaska Range in Alaska to join us, and to explore our great state.

We are students, private pilots, and professional pilots that share a love for flying. We have found new friendships and understanding in all branches of aviation. We appreciate our unique history, especially in Alaska, and endeavor to preserve it. We fly year round, under the midnight sun and in negative temperatures. Our adventures take us all over Alaska.

If you are interested in flying, and want to learn how to get started and what your options are in interior Alaska, please reach out! We love to provide mentorship and resources through a culmination of our shared experiences.
